Anish Kapoor Exhibition in Delhi


Anish Kapoor
Anish Kapoor was born in Bombay in 1954 and moved to Britain in 1972 and studied at  Hornsay and Chelsea. He was awarded the"Premio Duemila"atVenice Biennale in 1990 and the prestigiousTurner prize in1991 . Kapoor's works are simple,curved forms and brightly coloured. He is known for his mammoth sculptures and futuristic installations.

I was fortunate to attend  the high profileexhibition of the selected works of the world renowed Anish Kapoor at the National Gallery of Modern Art New Delhi.

As If celebrate
My Body Your Body
Then Isaw a huge spread of his celebrated works-  The spire and chasm,   Dante 2001,No Place1989 - was a bridge hanging in a void space,  Turning the World -a beautiful depiction of Atlas and paint,   Building for a Void 1992 Spain -A building containing a room made of polished plaster,in the floor a dark void and on the ceiling a small aperture.through the aperturea spot of sunlight moves around the floor through the day,   Her for Alba in fibreglass and paint was very attractive,Random Triangle Mirror was amazingly good,  Marsyas 2002 - shows three very large rings of steel stretched between them like flayed skin    Past ,Present Future,When Iwas pregnant,Flesh ,Taratantra, ARE SOME OF HIS AMAZING WORKS DISPLAYED. The Sky Mirror in the lawns of NGMA is also good to see .This is originally installed in Rockfeller Centre New York.
